International Awards Nomination Procedures

International award nominations are due 15 February each year. Awards are presented at the SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition. If the nominee is still eligible in subsequent years, they will automatically be considered again for the award for 2 additional years. If the nomination expires and the nominee is still eligible, they may be nominated again.

1. Identify the appropriate award from the list of honors and awards by examining the criteria listed.
2. (required) Complete the appropriate nomination form (see box at right for forms)
3. (required) Write a description of why the candidate should be recognized
4. (required) Provide a biographical and employment profile of the nominee. Include a current resume or condensed c.v. if possible
5. (optional) List any worldwide, national, local, company/academic, or public service contributions not covered in the biographical profile, and a list of 5 publications that best represent the candidate’s work
6. Submit all requested information by February 15
7. Submit all materials online, to the contact on the nomination form or via email to awards@spe.org
8. When the nomination is received, SPE staff will attach a list of the candidate's SPE service record – offices and positions held at both Society and section levels
