SPE to Honor Award Recipients and Distinguished Members at ATCE 2006

RICHARDSON, Texas, USA (25 September 2006) – The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) recognizes E&P industry professionals from across the globe at the 2006 SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE), 24-27 September in San Antonio, Texas, USA, for their outstanding contributions to SPE, their communities and the oil and gas industry.

SPE will present international awards and honors related to professional and technical achievements, as well as lifelong service to the industry and SPE, at the Annual Banquet on Monday, 25 September.

Heading the list of honorees are the 2006 Honorary Members, the highest honor SPE bestows on an individual. Honorary membership is given to individuals for outstanding service to SPE and/or in recognition of distinguished scientific or engineering achievement in fields encompassed in SPE’s technical scope.

The four honorary members are
