Field Trip

Join us on a field trip to Urban Oil Fields of the Los Angeles Basin: Geology, History, Oil, and Urban Living.

Welcome Reception

1800–2000, Sunday, 11 November

The Welcome Reception opens ATCE’s exhibition of the latest technologies and products on the market. The reception gives attendees a chance to network with other leading E&P professionals while enjoying complimentary food and beverages. In honor of SPE’s 50th anniversary, complimentary dessert and champagne will be served. Admittance is included with conference badge.

Western North America Regional Awards Luncheon

1215–1345, Monday, 12 November

The Western North America Regional Awards recognizes exceptional contributions to SPE at the section or regional level. Nominations for these awards are submitted by one's peers, after which they are reviewed and voted upon by the SPE Western Region Leadership Council. This year’s awards luncheon is being held in conjunction with ATCE.

Annual Reception and Banquet

The Annual Banquet recognizes distinguished SPE members who have made significant contributions to the oil and gas industry.

Alumni Activities

Various times, Tuesday, 13 November

Many colleges and universities have scheduled special alumni activities to coincide with ATCE 2007. These events provide excellent opportunities for attendees to visit and get reacquainted with old friends and to build new relationships with other professionals. Some alumni events require tickets.

SPE “Run for the Future” 5K Fun Run/Walk

0700–0800, Wednesday, 14 November

Whether you run or walk, participating in the “Run for the Future” directly impacts the careers of future petroleum engineers and helps strengthen the future of SPE. Proceeds from this event benefit the Gus Archie Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Teacher's Energy Education Workshop

0800-1500, Wednesday, 14 November

Anaheim-area Educators: You are invited to take part in a unique teachers' workshop where you will learn how to energize your classroom and teach energy topics in a fun and exciting way! The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and the National Energy Education Development (NEED) Project will present the workshop for kindergarten through 12th grade science teachers. Space is limited. Thanks to the sponsorship of ExxonMobil, there is no cost to attend.
