AIME Presents: Societal Changes and Issues

This session will address the engineer’s role in promoting social change. After Jim Jorden’s introductory remarks, Diran Apelian will speak from his paper on the topic of “Advocacy for Social Change.”
Following Apelian’s presentation, Abdul Jaleel Al-Khalifa will discuss the central role that social responsibility plays in SPE’s mission.
Lon Stuebinger will share how he has applied his engineering talents on a number of volunteer missions to provide clean water in developing communities.
After the formal presentations, the speakers will form a panel to address questions from the audience.
