Childcare Service

On-site childcare service will be available for children 2 through 12 years of age from 0800 to 1730 hours Monday–Wednesday. The childcare room is located in room 610/612, street level, Colorado Convention Center. Guests are responsible for paying a rate of USD 95 per child per day, which includes meals and snacks. Register for this service.

Foothills Fandango

1300–1730, Sunday, 21 September
Amidst towering cliffs slanting upwards and huge slabs of red sandstone rising hundreds of feet above you, Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater will surely be a sight that you will be talking about for a long time. Celebrate the exploits of the Old West’s most famous character, Buffalo Bill Cody, when your tour bus arrives atop Lookout Mountain. The museum contains antique guns, costumes, posters, and memorabilia from his Wild West show. Then your tour goes to Molson/Coors Brewery, which has been producing beer for more than 120 years. The visit includes a walking tour through the malting, brewing, and packaging processes; an opportunity to sample Coors beer; and a visit to the gift shop. (Proper identification is required for sampling.)

Phoenix Mine Tour

1000–1500, Monday, 22 September

Would you like to find gold? It’s possible as you pan for gold after your tour of the Historical Phoenix Gold Mine. On your way up to the mine in Idaho Springs, your tour guide will provide fascinating facts about the area and point out interesting sites like Red Rocks Park. You will see the tunnels and rooms of the Resurrection Vein, historical mining equipment, and buildings. You will also see various minerals still in the earth. After your tour, you will enter the historic mining town of Idaho Springs, where you will enjoy a lunch, visit Tommyknocker Brewery for a tour and samplings, and finally, visit stores in its historic streets. (Proper identification is required for sampling.)

Colorado Springs: The Pikes Peak Region

0900–1700, Tuesday, 23 September

Get ready to indulge your senses and set your imagination free! Stunning red sandstone formations heighten your interest at the Garden of the Gods. At the visitor center, “How Did Those Red Rocks Get There?” is an enjoyable 12-minute multimedia show. At the foot of the majestic Rocky Mountains, the United States Air Force Academy is Colorado’s most frequently visited man-made attraction. Highlights of your visit will include touring the visitor center, the planetarium, and the beautiful Cadet Chapel. Then your tour takes you to the popular Cave of the Winds, a rare geological formation that is more than 200 million years old.

Denver: A Mile High City

1300–1730, Tuesday, 23 September

Denver combines historic, restored buildings from the Old West with a booming metropolis of enormous skyscrapers. The tour begins at the state capital—built in the 1880s and made entirely of granite. You will then enjoy a guided tour of the Unsinkable Molly Brown’s Gothic Victorian mansion. Then we visit Millionaires’ Row, where you will see mansions of the gold rush days, along with a historic block where saloons and bordellos once stood. The Brown Palace Hotel, completed in 1892, is a remarkable example of Victorian architecture based on the Italian Renaissance style. Also on the tour is Trinity United Methodist Church, one of the finest examples of Modern Gothic architecture in the United States.

Rocky Mountain High

This tour of the gorgeous Rocky Mountains promises to be one of the most beautiful scenic tours you’ve ever taken! The Trail Ridge Road along the Continental Divide is known for its spectacular high-mountain beauty and some of the best views of wildlife in Colorado. During this experience, you will enjoy a gourmet box lunch picnic. In the city of Estes Park, you will drive by the famous Stanley Hotel, which was built of wood and rock obtained from the nearby mountains. Some of its guests have been the Unsinkable Molly Brown, President Theodore Roosevelt, and the famous author Stephen King who wrote about half of his novel, The Shining, in room 217. Estes Park is also known for its many jewelry and curio stores.

Bolder Boulder

The city of Boulder boasts more than 30 galleries, representing contemporary fine arts, western and Native American arts, cooperative galleries, collectibles and fine gifts, as well as public galleries. A must stop is the Pearl Street Mall. Enjoy lunch on your own in this vibrant historical preservation district that serves as the town’s heart and center. The beauty and romance of the West lives on at the Leanin’ Tree Museum of Western Art. The museum has one of the nation’s largest private collections displaying more than 200 paintings. We then invite you for a Celestial Tea experience in Boulder. You will tour the factory, art department, and R&D labs, and see how the tea is made.
