Underage Drinking at ATCE

Greetings Students and SPE Student Chapter Faculty Advisors:

 

We are approaching the 2009 SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition in New Orleans. There are many exciting activities scheduled for students, and we look forward to seeing many of you there.

Because of some situations that have occurred in the past, we would like to remind attendees that public intoxication is unacceptable at all SPE events and can cause liability to the companies and universities involved. SPE will be monitoring alcohol consumption at ATCE as well as other SPE international events.

Please keep in mind that the mission of SPE and the purpose of SPE activities is to share technical knowledge.

It is imperative that all students understand that underage and excessive drinking at SPE events, both locally and elsewhere, could result in severe consequences including potential loss of individual membership privileges or the student chapter charter.

We ask that students attending ATCE and other SPE student activities demonstrate proper decorum.

Your assistance and cooperation with this issue is greatly appreciated.
