SPE’s Petroleum Engineering Certification Exam

0800–1700

SPE will offer a certification exam for members interested in becoming certified under the SPE Petroleum Engineering Certification Program*. This program provides E&P professionals an opportunity to validate technical knowledge, show a commitment to professionalism, obtain a recognized credential, and achieve employer and peer recognition. Register for the exam and download the exam study guide.


* SPE Certification is a credential of technical knowledge as demonstrated by exam. SPE Certification does not constitute a license to practice petroleum engineering or permit the use of the title engineer in public or on legal documents.

 

Field Trip: The Geology of the Hurricane Katrina Disaster in New Orleans—What Happened?

0900–1600

During Hurricane Katrina, A 20-ft storm surge was experienced in southeast Louisiana, with 18 ft of surge reaching the eastern margins of the greater New Orleans area. Levees failed along several critical canals, which resulted in more than 80% of the city being flooded. This field trip offers a glimpse into what happened that day, what were the lessons learned, and how is New Orleans recovering. Learn more.

25-Year Club Breakfast

The 25-Year Club is for SPE members with 25 years or more of continuous membership. SPE will offer a networking breakfast for these members. 1990 SPE President Orville D. Gaither will be the guest speaker. The presentation begins at 0730 hours.

The 25-Year/Century Club is open daily during ATCE, 0800 to 1200 and 1300 to 1600 hours, Monday and Tuesday, and 0800 to 1200 hours, Wednesday, and is located in room 204, level 2.
