Satish Pai of Schlumberger will highlight the worldwide expansions and challenges to develop unconventional gas resources.

Mike Dawson of CSUG will then discuss the shale gas potential of Western Canada and the challenges that face the development of this mainly underdeveloped resource. Reservoir properties, estimated resources, and economic variables for a number of emerging gas shale plays, including the Montney and Horn River Basin, will be examined and compared to other North American shale gas basins.
