Special Session: Reservoir Management As An Integrated Technology

Ganesh Thakur defines reservoir management as the “use of financial technological and human resources, while minimizing capital investments and operating expenses to maximize economic recovery of oil and gas from a reservoir.” Reservoir management has evolved beyond the reservoir engineer into a multidiscipline, integrated team effort. Simulator models go beyond just the reservoir, incorporating the completions, wells, and subsea facilities. Key project decisions must incorporate all of the disciplines. How well have we done? How do we do better? This session explores these questions and more.

Special Session: A Global View of Reserves Systems

With the ever increasing globalization of the oil industry, there is a heightened need for improved understanding of the numerous reserves reporting systems in use. A panel of eight industry experts will discuss the regulatory requirements of various countries, including a historical perspective and the scope and basis of each system. The goal of the session is to improve attendees’ understanding of the information available from public disclosures made under various reporting regimes.

Energy4me Teacher Workshop

SPE’s energy education outreach program, Energy4me, will invite 50 Tuscany-area classroom teachers (of students ages 12-18) to attend a free, one-day energy education workshop. Educators will receive comprehensive, objective information about the scientific concepts of energy and its importance while discovering the world of oil and natural gas exploration and production.
