Exhibition and sponsorship opportunities are now available for ATCE 2014 which will be taking place on 27-29 October 2014 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
For more information, visit the 2014 SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition website.
Experient is the official housing contractor for ATCE. No other hotel/housing provider is authorized to contact you on SPE's behalf.
Austrian-based Construct Data Verlag AG and Mexican-based Expo Guide are not authorized to contact exhibitors. They are targeting exhibitors offering advertising space on their Fair Guide website.
Dear Exhibitor:
When we secure sleeping rooms at hotels for the ATCE event (commonly referred to as room blocks), we research the properties to make certain that our guests are adequately accommodated. These room blocks are established to ensure that rooms meet our standards and are offered at a discounted price.
We have been informed that exhibitors and sponsors have been contacted by fax, email, or most often by phone with offers to cut rate housing. The intent is to convince you that the offer is made on behalf of SPE or that the soliciting company is a viable alternative to going to the hotel directly. This is NOT TRUE.
Housing Pirating is a practice carried out by third-party companies that act as agents to solicit registrants for room reservations. The “Pirates” might inform registrants that they have secured the best possible rate or that the room block is “sold out,” and that if you do not book with them immediately, you may not get a room. Additional deceptive tactics include distributing forms or promotional materials that appear to be issued by SPE.
"Housing Pirates" often don’t deliver on promises to customers. When customers arrive, reservations are non-existent. Sometimes the rooms have been cancelled and hefty cancellation fees have been placed on the customer’s credit card.
"Housing Pirates" make it more difficult for us to meet our room block commitments, and expose us to penalties and increased room rates for our events.
"Housing Pirates" often represent themselves as being affiliated with conference hosts by illegally using their logo.
Don’t be misled! And remember: Unless you have initiated the communication, please do not provide anyone with your personal information, especially your credit card number.
If you are contacted by someone asking if you need a room at the SPE conference or if they represent themselves as the "SPE Housing Bureau", please get as much information as you can, such as the name of the company, the person calling, and their telephone number – then contact:

Experient is the Official Housing Provider for ATCE. SPE has worked diligently with the hotels in New Orleans to establish room blocks for attendees and exhibitors. Improper solicitation of hotel reservations from any company of housing provider other than Experient is not approved by SPE. Reservations made by unaffiliated organizations may appear to be for lower rates, however they may be illegitimate, have unreasonable cancellation or change penalties, or be completely non-refundable. Please be aware of, and report any unauthorized solicitation to SPE.
