Energy4me Teacher Workshop

Energy4me, SPE’s energy education outreach programme, will invite Amsterdam-area classroom teachers (of ages 8 to 18) to attend a free, one-day energy education workshop. Educators will receive:

  • Presentation on Oil and Gas Exploration and Production
    A keynote speaker will present the role of energy in our everyday lives, followed by a question and answer period.
  • Hands-on Classroom Activities Training
    Teachers will learn age-appropriate energy experiments that can energize their classrooms through hands-on activities.
  • Technology Tour
    Industry professionals will lead teachers on an exhibit tour of the amazing high-tech tools, software, and equipment used by the oil and gas industry to find and produce energy resources around the world.

Educators will receive a variety of free instructional materials to take back to their classrooms. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. ATCE can accommodate up to 100 teachers, chosen on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no cost for teachers to attend the workshop.

Energy4me Student Energy Event

SPE is educating the next generation of aspiring engineers, scientists and managers in the E&P industry. Secondary students will see the exciting opportunities the industry has to offer. Students will participate in:

  • Hands-on Energy Exploration Experiments
    Students will engage in age-appropriate energy activities to demonstrate the exploration and production process.
  • Meet Industry Professionals and Hear from a Local Industry Speaker
    A keynote speaker will present the role of energy in our everyday lives, followed by a question and answer period.
  • Technology Tour with Scavenger Hunt
    Industry professionals will lead students on an exhibit tour of the amazing high-tech tools, software, and equipment used by the oil and gas industry to find and produce energy resources around the world.

Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Because of the popularity of this programme, ATCE can accommodate a total of 200 students and chaperones. Schools will be chosen on a first-come, first-served basis.  All students participating MUST be 15 years of age or older.  There is no cost for students to attend the workshop.
