The unique challenges of tight gas sand reservoirs have created considerable effort during the past few years to develop new logging and core evaluation techniques. The result has been an improved understanding of the petrophysical characteristics and rock physics of these complex reservoirs. Additionally, new and innovative geophysical techniques are being rapidly developed and deployed in an effort to better image and understand unconventional reservoirs. Even with the new advances in technology, results are often unexpected and unforeseen.
This workshop will take a multidisciplinary approach to better understand tight gas sand reservoirs and key challenges. Topics to be discussed include the following:
- Economics of unconventional plays
- Reservoir engineering
- Log and core measurements
- Petrophysics
- Rock physics
- Geophysics – active and passive seismic techniques
