The workshop has been designed to help finding answers to key questions operating companies address when preparing business cases: What are the characteristics of the most suitable reservoirs to drill non vertical wells, what is the expected increase in reserves and productivity over vertical wells, what combination of technologies will produce the optimum cost of development and less environmental impact by reducing oil footprint and surface infrastructure operating costs, how a well construction project is defined and executed and finally how the business project is going to be impacted by uncertainties and risks and how do we identify and analyze them.
The workshop features six sessions designed to secure a balanced representation of key disciplines that participate in a typical non vertical well life cycle construction project.

The goal of this ATW is to actively promote the usage of available technologies to maximize contact and reservoir recovery factors.
This 2-day ATW will include three to four presentations per technical session with each presentation allowing 20 minutes plus 10 minutes of questions and discussions. On the last day, the session chairperson of each technical session will present a summary recapping the lessons learned.
