SPE ATW:
Artificial Lift Systems
4-5 March 2010 | Cancun, Mexico
An artificial lift system comprises technologies and components from downhole pumping systems, to surface controls, monitoring and automation. In addition, reservoir studies, well design, construction and maintenance also play a critical role in the success (or failure) of the system.
This workshop combines all aspects of artificial lift systems allowing participants to see the full interactive circle of technologies and competencies. Presentations, interactive discussions will cover such diverse topics as:
The workshop is a limited-attendance meeting for 75 to 100 people, and has been designed for practicing professionals who work directly or indirectly in any of the following areas:
This workshop utilizes oral presentations to cover the topics given above. Although no formal paper(s) will be published, a summary document will be prepared by the workshop leadership for publication. This document will include highlighted technologies and practices discussed, along with the conclusions of the workshop and any consensus recommendations.
The SPE ATW’s programs are content-driven and emphasize recent experiences and practices. Participants and presenters are encouraged to speak openly and candidly about the issue. The emphasis of this workshop is on sharing expertise and experiences. While not required, presenters are strongly encouraged to provide “public” versions of their materials for distribution to the participants.
Note-taking by individual attendees is encouraged, but should be limited to ensure participation in the open discussion. A URL containing released copies of the workshop presentations and a complete attendee list will be available to attendees after the workshop. A workshop summary will be prepared by the technical program committee for public release as well.
The Society of Petroleum Engineers, through SPE Professional Development, will award Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for participation and completion of SPE applied technology workshops. This workshop qualifies for 1.6 CEU Credits. One SPE CEU equals 10 contact hours of participation in SPE continuing education activities. A permanent record of a participant’s involvement and awarding of CEUs will be maintained by SPE.
An ATW questionnaire will be distributed before lunch on Friday, and registrants are asked to complete and return the survey to SPE staff before the end of the technical sessions.
