The need to drastically reduce global greenhouse gas emissions, primarily
CO2, is now being progressively recognised at an international level. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), by 2050, 5 billion tons of CO2 per year could be avoided through CO2 Capture and Storage (CCS), representing a 16% contribution to the reduction of global emissions needed to limit climate disruption.
