The creation of digital oilfields has allowed previously difficult-to-produce wells to be achievable. We have since been busy with various projects – building infrastructure, writing software, adapting work processes, and training staff – to capture this promised value.
The value proposition of the digital oilfield is broadly accepted. The developmental pace and supporting budgets are encouraging. There is a level of satisfaction with both hardware and software and within the organizational structure.
Most large companies report considerable progress, budgets and developments and there is a level of satisfaction with both hardware and software, however, challenges remain. The area that seems to draw the most concern is work processes. While business cases are accepted to justify investments, there is a strong need for more case studies and actual data.
This workshop focuses on the remaining barriers to capturing the value of the digital oilfield: improved work processes, supporting software, standardization, training, and organization.
The workshop includes 2 days of presentations and informal discussions on key issues, latest developments, and insistent needs in capturing the value of the digital oilfield. Eight sessions include brief presentations and are followed by an extended Q&A with the audience.
Attendees are encouraged to take this opportunity to exchange ideas and knowledge with their peers, whether during the sessions, lunches, or social events.
The workshop is designed for practicing professionals who work directly or indirectly in the applying the digital oilfield to the upstream petroleum business. Specialists in any of the following areas will benefit from participation:
Space is limited to 75–100 attendees.
