Session III: Operations Centers |
Session Chairpersons: Marise Mikulis, Baker Hughes and Jose Adilson Gomes, Petrobras Many decisions are made during the operation of an oilfield. They often involve millions of dollars and are vital to the success of the company. Given their importance and complexity, they must be made by multidisciplinary teams - putting together the right people in an appropriate place with the right data in a timely fashion. Both operators and service companies have to work in collaborative environments, typically in Operations Centers. The purpose of this session is to promote a discussion on work processes within Operations Centers – both lessons learned and how collaboration to make better decisions can be improved in the future.

Session IV: Workflows in Digital Oilfield: Integration & Collaboration |
Session Chairpersons: Ankur Awasthi, Halliburton and Philippe Flichy,IO-Hub The promise of the digital oilfield is to execute business processes where decisions can be made effectively by the right people at the right time. Workflows in the DOF assist in such decision-making by performing repetitive tasks and using tools that can automate actions when necessary. This session is focused on different workflows in DOF and how they address the asset needs in a collaborative, timely and cost-effective manner.

Session V: Supply Chain Management and the DOF |
Session Chairpersons:Ken Landgren, SAP and Kemal Farid, Merrick Systems Many oilfield operations are characterized by the need to procure materials, transport them to working locations, and use them to construct something or perform a service. This is the domain of supply chain management (SCM). This session will explore how the concepts and techniques of digital technology are being used to improve SCM. Topics will include how real time remote access and process automation are used to enhance how work gets done in such activities as maintenance and inspection of operating equipment, well construction, well work-over, and well servicing.

Session VI: Breakout Session on Developing a Business Case for DOF |
Session Chairperson: Kemal Farid, Merrick Systems Much of the technical program of the Workshop is focused on demonstrating how work gets done and what value has been achieved with DOF. This session will be a break out session, with extensive audience participation. The content from the Workshop’s technical program will come together in a case exercise to design improved work processes as a part of a business case justification. The workshop participants will work in teams to prepare a workflow plan for the use of real time data in one of a variety of asset types. Each team will provide a brief report-out on the key components of their plan. |

Session VII: Safer Operations by using Real Time Data |
Session Chairpersons: Bill Chmela, Kongsberg and Carol Piovesan, APO Offshore Safe operations are on everyone’s minds. This session is focused on how safer work flows have been achieved through the use of real-time data and digital technologies. Real-time data associated with drilling and production operations have allowed distributed virtual teams to be formed, bringing in expertise from across the organization or from around the world. As a result, early warnings associated with pending equipment failures, problematic formations, or unsafe situations are allowing decision makers to take preventative action earlier. Papers in this section should focus on using real-time and/or simulated data to make field operations safer and more efficient.
