Information about this Forum
The E&P industry has made significant strides in improving its health and safety performance during the past 20 years and has much to be proud of. This is validated by such organizations as the API, OGP and IADC in their record keeping and reporting. In fact, some operations have gone long periods without any incidents. We all recognize that eliminating the last few incidents is the most difficult step in the journey to an incident free workplace.
Most organizations have some mention of a zero incident workplace in their vision and/or core values, but have no firm strategy on how to achieve that result. This Forum will provide an opportunity to discuss barriers and opportunities to allow development or enhancement of strategies to achieve that goal.
Attendees for this Forum will include leading HSE professionals and operations managers from the E&P and other high risk industries, educational and consulting organizations. The audience will represent the leaders of these organizations that both influence and impact critical initiatives.
Topics for the Forum include:
- Do you believe a zero incident workplace is feasible? If not, why not?
- How did you achieve improvement in your current performance?
- What tools are required to improve your current performance?
- How important is the work planning process (including risk assessment) in achieving zero?
- What role does behavioral based safety observation/intervention process plan in getting to zero?
- What, if any, behaviors must be modified in order to eliminate incidents?
- Do we have the correct workforce to achieve our goal? If not, what needs to change?
- How can we best align operators, service companies and our suppliers to ensure we are all striving for the same goal?
