About this Workshop

Workshop Description

During recent years, with the introduction of more sophisticated instrumentation, laboratory activities for the oil industry have become more and more effi cient. This has given the oil industry the opportunity to renew the interest for what we call “hard data”. This is the basis of E&P activity and a better assessment will contribute to reduce exploration risk, maximize production and diminish drilling hazards.

One of the main keys to unlocking maximum value from Lab activities and adding huge strategic value to Oil Companies is a complete integration with E&P disciplines: Geology, Geophysics, Reservoir, Production and Drilling. Besides generating data for daily operations, the Lab is an ideal place for innovation and research activities.

This SPE/EAGE joint workshop will focus on laboratory activities, trying to understand how the Laboratories of the future will be set up and which challenges they will have to face. Experts from oil companies, service companies and the academic world will share their experience, research results and latest innovations.

The workshop will include an optional visit to the OMV labs.

Who Should Attend?

This workshop targets all individuals involved in E&P activities who rely on and work with lab data: G&G scientists, reservoir engineers, facility engineers, production engineers and material specialists.
