Digital Rocks: Realizing Step Change in Value of Laboratory Data

14 - 19 August 2011 :: Ojai, California

About this Forum

Digital Rocks (DR), an exciting emerging technology driven by rapid advances in pore scale imaging and computation, allows an unprecedented quantitative understanding of the pore scale at which all reservoir processes operate.

This forum will begin by discussing the various ways this technology can add value to our industry and end by outlining the actions needed to create the step change to realize this value.

Sessions include future applications of DR pertaining to:

  • different disciplines such as petrophysics and rock physics
  • various asset classes such as carbonates, sandstones, and shales
  • integration of diverse data sets

Additionally, there will be sessions on future technology developments that are needed in imaging, pore construction, physics, and computation.

Innovative Thought and Accelerated Results

SPE Forums offer an exclusive opportunity to discuss complex industry challenges with top technologists, innovators, and managers. The forums’ limited size and intensive format maximize the opportunity to contribute. The objective is to stimulate thought, accelerate innovation, and inspire the development of new technology.

To create a cohesive group in which discussion is free flowing, only committee-selected applicants are invited to attend. Participants are encouraged to come prepared to contribute their experience and knowledge, not to be spectators or students.

If you have a role to play in meeting the challenges of tomorrow head-on, apply today. Participants will be selected based on their ability to contribute to the discussion and to represent their stakeholder group.

How Participation Benefits You—and Your Organization
