The 2010 SPE Asia Pacific Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition will be held in Brisbane, Australia. The event is hosted by the SPE Queensland Section. As one of the most important technical events in the Asia Pacific region, it is an ideal opportunity to focus on the progress of the oil and gas industry across this region, an area known for its diversity, opportunity, and capacity for growth.

Mr. Rod Bresnehan, Principal Consultant – Petroleum Engineering, Oil, Gas, CBM, Geothermal of Bresnehan and Associates Pty. Ltd., is the event’s Conference Chairman; Mr. Don McMillan, Principal Engineer of Oil Gas CBM Services Pty. Ltd., is the Technical Programme Committee Chairman; and Mr. Daniel O’Brien, CSG Production Engineer of Santos Ltd., is the Conduct Committee Chairman.

“Pushing the Boundaries” is the theme of the conference. The event will highlight the need to capitalise on current opportunities facing the regional and global energy industry while managing commercial, policy and environmental uncertainties.

The Technical Programme will feature four panel sessions, “Petroleum Resources and Reserves”, “Environmental Management”, “CSG to LNG”, and “Stakeholder Engagement”. Presentations of more than 70 technical papers and a poster session are planned, and oil and gas industry leaders will participate in the Opening Session, Keynote Session and speak at the daily Topical Luncheons. The conference will also feature a Workshop for young professionals, and an Education Day.

The focus of the Technical Programme includes business and technical risk management, completion and production, coalbed methane, case studies, deepwater and subsea, drilling (well construction), facilities and operations, gas supply, gas technology, HSE and society, human resources, IOR/EOR, knowledge management, onshore/offshore support, reservoir characterisation, simulation, artificial intelligence and modelling, surface and sub-surface integration and optimisation, and unconventional resources

A Technical Exhibition is planned in support of the conference to allow delegates to view examples of emerging technologies and state-of-the-art innovations. Booth space is limited, so please book early.
