SPE Asia Pacific Regional Awards

Recognition of significant technical and professional contributions is a hallmark of SPE.

In appreciation of and to acknowledge the exceptional contributions by members, awards will be presented by the 2014 SPE President, Jeff Spath, to the 2013 SPE Regional Awards recipients.

The awards presentation for the recipients of the Distinguished Corporate Support Award, Service Award, Technical Awards, Young Member Outstanding Service Award and Distinguished Achievement Award for Petroleum Engineering Faculty will take place on Tuesday, 22 October, 2013 at the Topical Luncheon.

Distinguished Corporate Support Award

The award recognises outstanding support by an organisation and distinguished service to SPE members in the region through excellence in leadership and through the commitment of time, energy and professional resources. It recognises companies that make contributions to the support of SPE membership, programmes and events, and are not based solely on financial assistance.

Service Award

The award acknowledges exceptional contributions to SPE at the section or regional level. It recognises singular devotion of time and effort to the programmes and development of the member's section and region that set it apart from the services rendered each year by many members of the society.

Technical Awards

The award acknowledges exceptional contributions to SPE at the section or regional level and recognise singular devotion of time and effort to the programmes and development of technical expertise in one of the following eight disciplines: Completions Optimisation & Technology; Drilling Engineering; Formation Evaluation; Health, Safety, Security, Environment & Social Responsibility; Management & Information; Production and Operations; Projects, Facilities and Construction; and Reservoir Description & Dynamics.

Young Member Outstanding Service Award

The award recognises contributions and leadership to the public and the community, with respect to local custom, as well as to the society, the profession of petroleum engineering, or the petroleum industry within the region.

Distinguished Achievement Award for Petroleum Engineering Faculty

The award recognises superiority in classroom teaching, excellence in research, significant contributions to the petroleum engineering profession and/or special effectiveness in advising and guiding students. It is presented based on the recommendation of the regional director or the regional award committee.
