The 2016 SPE Canada Heavy Oil Technical Conference with its theme “Technology Meets the Challenges” will build on a strong tradition of using formal paper presentations and industry networking to advance corporate and individual knowledge of current technologies. The result of this knowledge transfer will be barrels produced in a more sustainable manner – safely, environmentally, and economically.
The conference provides oil sands engineering insights in the 85+ presentations that are primarily sub-surface focused. Held in conjunction with the Global Petroleum Show, it is attended by approximately 500 engineers, geologists and professionals involved in the heavy oil industry.
A rigorous screening of all abstracts will ensure the technical quality of the program which will include the geosciences and thermal, non-thermal and hybrid recovery processes for the oil sands and heavy oil.
Join this year’s conference and be part of one of the most anticipated events in the region.
The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is a not-for-profit professional association whose more than 168,000 members in 144 countries are engaged in oil and gas exploration and production. SPE is a key resource for technical knowledge providing publications, events, training courses, and online resources at www.spe.org.
The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is a not-for-profit organization. Income from this event will be invested back into SPE to support many other Society programs. When you attend an SPE event, you help provide even more opportunities for industry professionals to enhance their technical and professional competence. Scholarships, certification, the Distinguished Lecturer program, and SPE's energy education program Energy4me are just a few examples of programs that are supported by SPE.
