David Bat will discuss the operators’ future needs and plans for well intervention for both land, offshore, US and international.
David Bat is President of Welling & Company, an international research firm serving the upstream petroleum industry for over 40 years. Bat has 25 years of energy experience and an established track record for creating and building energy businesses. A native of Jackson, Mississippi, Bat began his career as a geologist with Chevron in 1987 and assumed additional roles of commercial responsibility. He was involved in the early development of integrated solutions for the oilfield, and later leveraged that experience to lead the creation of the Integrated Solutions Business Unit for Chevron downstream and Chevron Energy Solutions in 2000 where he served as Vice President. In 2003, Bat served as General Manager for Constellation New Energy Texas where he led the growth of the company from $140 million/year to over $1.4 billion/year in 3 year—becoming the 2nd largest power provider in the state of Texas for commercial and industrial businesses. Bat worked in private equity in 2006 where he was active in mergers, acquisitions, and financial restructuring for the energy segment prior to joining Welling & Company in 2007. His business passion is building high performance, learning based organizations that result in delivering sustained business performance and supporting the upstream petroleum industry.
Bat is active in the community by serving his local school and church as well as serves on the executive advisory board for a couple of privately held businesses. He has three children and enjoys golf and boating when time allows.
David received his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Oklahoma and a Master of Science degree from Oklahoma State University. He also holds an M.B.A. with a major in Finance and Marketing from the University of New Orleans.
