Please determine whether you will require a visa to enter Canada and plan accordingly. The following guidelines will assist you in obtaining a visa. For more information, please visit the Canadian Embassy or Consulate in your country.
This letter from SPE outlines the reason for your travel and is used as a supporting document to your visa application.
To receive an invitation letter by email or fax, you must first register for the conference. After you have registered, please email your visa letter request to MeetingsCanada@spe.org. The following information must be included in your visa letter request:
Note: It is the sole responsibility of the attendee to obtain the necessary paperwork for entry to Canada. This letter does not guarantee that you will be granted a visa, nor does it commit SPE to assist you in obtaining a visa. SPE will not pay any expenses incurred by you. We cannot send the letter to the embassy or consulate for you, nor can SPE contact the embassy or consulate on your behalf.
All foreign nationals intending to visit Canada are required to declare and show proof of the reason and length of their stay along with, in some cases, the availability of adequate financial means and accommodation. In some cases an entry visa is required, which can be requested at the Canadian diplomatic and consular representation in the country of residence.
Note: The aforementioned information is a general guideline for travel to Canada. Because travel requirements may change, SPE recommends that the attendees contact their local embassy to ensure they have proper documentation.
