Thursday, 7 November | 0800-1500 | Calgary Telus Convention Centre, Calgary

Energy4me, the Society of Petroleum Engineers’ (SPE) energy education outreach program, is inviting 50 Calgary-area science teachers (grades 4-12) to learn how to teach energy topics in a fun and exciting way during the Unconventional Resources Conference!

Educators will receive comprehensive, objective information about the scientific concepts of energy and its importance, while discovering the world of oil and natural gas exploration and production. A variety of free instructional materials will be available to take back to the classroom.

  • Presentation on Oil and Gas Exploration and Production
A keynote speaker will present the role of energy in our everyday lives, followed by a question and answer period.
  • Hands-on Classroom Activities
Teachers will learn age-appropriate energy experiments that can energize their classrooms through hands-on activities provided by the Energy4me instructors. All learning activities are correlated to provincial science standards and other disciplines.
  • Technology Tour
Industry professionals will lead teachers on an exhibit tour of the amazing high-tech tools, software, and equipment used by the oil and gas industry to find and produce energy resources around the world.
