About the Conference
In a rapidly changing and tough economic environment, outstanding business performance is more important than ever. This conference will feature a range of presentations that cover all aspects of performance improvement allowing us to share and learn through the good, the bad and the ugly case histories. Further it’s a great opportunity to learn how business has improved through new technology applications and practices in drilling and well completions activities. Good people being our greatest asset is often stated and today, as markets start to emerge from the doldrums of the economic downturn, we shall be challenged once again to provide competent high calibre staff to the growth cycle that our industry shall again embark on.
General Information
Young Professionals Luncheon
A young professionals’ luncheon will be held from 1245 to 1400 hours on Wednesday 2 March. Young professionals will have the chance to discuss industry and career topics with experienced professionals in a relaxed setting. Simply indicate that you are a Young Professional on the registration form to receive information about the YP Luncheon.
Knowledge Sharing ePoster Sessions
The programme committee are continuing an SPE initiative concerning a new approach to poster presentations to promote discussion and interaction among the authors and participants. The intent is to share best practices and encourage networking. The Knowledge Sharing ePoster Sessions will be open on each day of the event from 1000–1900 hours on Tuesday, 1000–1600 hours on Wednesday and 1000– 1600 hours on Thursday. To benefit from the evolution of presentation technologies, authors are encouraged to present their work using a laptop presentation, typically a PowerPoint slideshow. This should ease the preparation of the presentation and allow more interactivity.
CD Proceedings
One copy of the conference CD Proceedings is included in the full conference registration fee. Additional copies of the conference CD Proceedings can be ordered using the online or hard copy registration form.
Welcome Reception
A Welcome Reception will take place on Tuesday 1 March from 1730–1900 hours, in the Exhibition Hall.
SPE/IADC Luncheons
Exhibitor and Delegate luncheons will be served during the conference from 1200–1245 hours, and 1245–1400 hours respectively on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in the Exhibition Hall. Luncheons are included in the full conference registration fee. Delegates are able to purchase additional lunch tickets online and onsite.
Coffee Breaks
All coffee breaks will take place in the Exhibition Hall.
Publications
SPE and IADC provide a distribution point for participating oil and gas publications. Conference participants are encouraged to visit the registration area and pick up a complimentary copy of the publications.
Housing Information
Rooms have been block booked for the event
by the RAI Hotel Service. All reservations must be received
by 1 January 2011 to be guaranteed at the
conference rate.
Photography in Sessions
All SPE/IADC sessions are protected by European copyright laws. Photography and video/audio recording of any kind are strictly prohibited in the sessions and throughout the exhibition area.
