In preparation for the 2011 SPE/IADC Drilling Conference, SPE and IADC have revised the priority point system for exhibiting companies for the 2011 and future events. The revision is part of the ongoing effort to provide a similar experience for the exhibitor and attendee at both the USA and European events.
SPE and IADC have reviewed the historical participation at each conference to provide a basis for establishing each company’s priority number. The priority number reflected on the 2011 SPE/IADC Drilling Conference Priority List will reflect the participation that each exhibiting company provided at the events.
Having started with the 2008 conference, for each subsequent year of participation, a company will gain 10 priority points. Companies may skip a year (as some companies will exhibit at one or the other conference) and still retain their priority number. They will not, however, gain any priority points for the skipped year. Companies that exhibit at both events will gain priority points at a quicker rate and will move higher on the priority list as a result.
A company that does not exhibit for two consecutive years will lose their priority number and their priority points. Using the new system, companies who did not exhibit in 2009 or 2010 were not issued priority numbers or priority points for the upcoming 2011 initial space assignment process. They will enter the 2011 conference as a new company and will accrue 10 priority points for their participation.
SPE and IADC will publish and post on the Web site the Drilling Conference Priority List on an annual basis.
