The Distinguished Lecturer Program extends the knowledge and experience of some of the industrys top experts in all phases of the E&P industry. By making available to every SPE section up to three lectures per year, the DL Program answers countless questions and advances technology on all fronts, in more than 450 presentations each year.

- Today, there are 35-40 Lecturers
- Lecturers recognized as experts in their field
- Nominated by peers
- Reviewed and selected by Distinguished Lecturer Committee.
Primary Funding
The Distinguished Lecturer Program is funded primarily by the SPE Foundation through member donations and a contribution from Offshore Europe. The Society is also grateful to those companies that allow their professionals to serve as Lecturers. Additional support is provided by AIME.

A Modern Day Odyssey
The primary task of an SPE Distinguished Lecturer is to provide an engaging presentation of the best technology of the oil and natural gas industry to the far corners of the world.
