What are the times of the workshop?
How much does the workshop cost?
There is no fee to attend.
How many students will attend?
Approximately 150 students will be selected to attend the workshop.
Are there any lessons that need to be shared with students prior to the workshop?
Yes. Participating schools will receive short pre-lessons to prepare the students for attending.
What is the dress policy?
School attire for students. Make sure comfortable shoes are worn for the exhibition tour.
What is the schedule for the day?
- 8:30 a.m. Welcome and hands-on energy activities
Students are welcomed as they arrive and start the hands-on energy activities. On-the-go breakfast is offered.
- 11:30 a.m. Exhibit tour
Industry professionals will lead small groups of students in a scavenger hunt of state-of-the art technology exhibits that will connect what the students learn to career opportunities
- 12:30 p.m. Lunch with industry professionals
Students will have lunch with energy professionals to ask questions and discuss the importance of energy and the exciting career opportunities in the energy sector.
- 1:30 p.m. Closing program
Students will complete surveys and receive take-home educational and career brochures as well as giveaway items. Teachers accompanying the students will receive a variety of free instructional materials to take back to the classroom.
Are there age restrictions for the students?
All students participating must be 15 years of age or older.
What time do we need to arrive?
You will need to arrive at 08:00 a.m. for registration. Those arriving later may have a shorter time on the exhibition tour.
Do I need identification to get in?
Yes. Teachers and chaperones should be prepared to show photo ID (passport or driver's license) to pick up the conference badges.
Will you help pay for transportation?
Yes! Schools using district buses will receive a bus stipend to help with transportation costs, up to $200 USD per bus can be paid back to your school or district.
Where do we park?
Maps and details about bus drop-off will be sent to participating schools.
Will lunch be provided?
Yes, a complimentary lunch will be provided.
