YOUNG MEMBERS ACTIVITIES

This year at ATCE a host of activities will be on offer for young members, all designed to help you develop new skills, make new contacts in the industry, and find out more about how you can prepare yourself for a career in the oil and gas industry and how SPE can help you along the way.

Leadership Workshop

Sunday, 25 September | 0800–1730

Current and future SPE Section and Student Chapter leaders are invited to engage and share. Every attendee leaves energised with a full list of ideas and a support network of fellow leaders. Those sections and student chapters actively participating in this workshop have consistently been recognised with awards as the best in SPE.

Student Meet and Greet

Sunday, 25 September | 1400–1700 | Al Multaqua Ballroom, Dubai World Trade Centre

Make friends from around the world in the lead up to ATCE. Interactive activities at this event help you meet and network with fellow students and guest speakers will provide you with valuable insight on how you can prepare for your career ahead.

Student Networking Reception

PetroBowl

Monday, 26 September | 0700–1800 | Sheikh Maktoum A and D, Dubai World Trade Centre

ATCE’s most competitive event. Student chapters from around the world compete in a tournament-style contest that tests their knowledge of the E&P industry.

Student Paper Contest – Undergraduate, Master and PhD divisions

Tuesday, 27 September | 0800–1500 | Dubai World Trade Centre

Watch the winners from the regional contests from around the world compete for the international prize. Contests take place across three rooms for Undergraduate (in Al Ain D), Masters (Hatta B) and PhD (in Hatta H) divisions.

Student Communication Workshop

Tuesday, 27 September | 0900–1200 | Onyx, Pearl, Emerald, Novotel

This workshop will give students the opportunity to work in a small group to hone their networking abilities, refine their communication skills, and build up a toolkit of essential knowledge for their careers ahead. Students will work in small groups to gain valuable insight into working in a truly global industry, from cultural implications to practical advice for the workplace.

Student Awards Luncheon

Tuesday, 27 September | 1200–1330 | Bubble Lounge, Dubai World Trade Centre

A three course luncheon for students in which SPE will honour the outstanding student chapters, PetroBowl winners, and scholarship and fellowship recipients. Please note that this is a ticketed event.

Career Pathway Fair with Career Breakout Sessions

Tuesday, 27 September | 1430–1800 | Sheikh Maktoum A, Dubai World Trade Centre

Meet with specialists from multiple disciplines within the oil and gas industry to gain insight into what different career paths are out there, how they fit into the industry and what it is really like working in a particular discipline. The event will provide an opportunity for students, recent graduates and young professionals to speak with experienced individuals working in different career paths in an informal environment.

Young Member Reception

Tuesday, 27 September | 1800–2000 | Al Multaqua Ballroom, Dubai World Trade Centre

Come and meet with young members from all over the world at this reception. This reception will include an interactive networking exercise and is open to students, recent graduates and young professionals.

PetroBowl Video Contest

Is your team getting fuelled up for the 2016 PetroBowl Championship? SPE will showcase the efforts and team spirit of the 36 qualifying teams as they prepare for the Road to Dubai. We're giving one student and one young professional the chance to win flights and accommodation to attend ATCE! All you have to do is submit a 1-minute video before 20 August on the topic "Why You Should Attend ATCE 2016 in Dubai."

The top 10 videos with the most social media engagement* will be shortlisted, and the top 5 videos will be played during the President’s Luncheon. The winners will be recognised during the President’s Luncheon with a certificate and a photo opportunity on stage.
