What is the SPE ADIPEC University Programme?

This programme is for the benefit of the top undergraduate geosciences and engineering students from across the Middle East and North Africa Region. It is anticipated that some 50-60 students will be selected to attend the SPE ADIPEC University Programme. The purpose of this programme is to give the students a clear insight of the industry that they are about to join; to allow them to return to their universities and colleges with a positive message to relate to their fellow students; and to provide opportunities for students to form new friendships while working together on joint activities. At the same time, the students will be interacting with a number of major industry employers across the region onsite at ADIPEC.

Programme Overview

This is a 3-day programme that will take place alongside ADIPEC. During these three (3) days, students will participate in an engaging programme led by young professionals including:

  • Technical and professional skills sessions
  • Networking with companies in the industry, young professionals and other students
  • Team building, group work and presentations
  • Field trips to local companies and a visit to ADIPEC

The Student Project

The SPE ADIPEC University Programme Steering Committee will select an energy related theme that students will base their projects and final presentations around. Each group will be connected virtually with a Young Professional (YP) Mentor working in the industry to mentor the group prior to the event dates.

After the event, participating students are encouraged to share their final presentations with their peers and faculty while sharing their experience and learnings from the ADIPEC Conference and University Challenge.
