SPE Workshop: European Formation Damage 7 - 8 Jun 2017 Sofitel Chain Bridge Budapest, Hungary

The European Formation Damage Workshop is the primary SPE formation damage event in Europe. It provides an opportunity for open multidisciplinary discussions between leading industry experts to promote optimisation of well productivity.  Focus will be on obtaining optimum well completions to achieve the greatest production.

Completion strategies need to be planned from the conception stage of the well, and thus this workshop can include all steps to maximize returns from a formation damage (prevention and remedy) viewpoint. This encompasses drilling and completion fluids, perforating, completion tools and techniques such as sand control and prevention and damage removal or bypass using stimulation as well as field pressure maintenance by water injection. Optimization is required to produce the maximum oil and gas production essential in an uncertain oil price environment.

The workshop which will be a two day event, will cover wide-ranging topics including green & brown field well damage prevention & treatment, innovation in drilling and completion fluids, sand control management and prevention, and stimulation. It will encompass wells in extreme conditions, of depth, pressure, temperature and permeability. The emphasis will be on maximizing value from a drilled well. The sessions will incorporate case studies and structured discussions to help share the knowledge among those attending and develop new approaches. Ample networking opportunities will enhance collaboration and sharing where participants can continue their discussions in a less formal atmosphere.
