Creating Value Through Efficiency and Innovation

Unconventional reservoir development is mostly responsible for the dramatic growth in energy supplies over the last few years. North America is now essentially self-sufficient in natural gas and liquid hydrocarbons – something that even 5 years ago would have been difficult to believe possible.

While the increase in supply has been a boon for energy consumers and has spurred growth in industries using energy, the reduction in prices has had the opposite effect on the energy industry.  This means the industry must seek ways to be more efficient and innovative in order to continue to develop unconventional resources.

The SPE Canadian Unconventional Resources Conference is perhaps the most dedicated event where E&P professionals can share and discuss the latest in technologies, challenges and solutions to developing and producing these difficult reservoirs.

About Society of Petroleum Engineers

The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is a not-for-profit professional association whose more than 164,000 members in 143 countries are engaged in oil and gas exploration and production. SPE is a key resource for technical knowledge providing publications, events, training courses, and online resources at www.spe.org.

The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is a not-for-profit organization. Income from this event will be invested back into SPE to support many other Society programs. When you attend an SPE event, you help provide even more opportunities for industry professionals to enhance their technical and professional competence. Scholarships, certification, the Distinguished Lecturer program, and SPE's energy education program Energy4me are just a few examples of programs that are supported by SPE.
