The SPE Workshop: Ghana Future Leaders Workshop will explore the role Ghana will play in the future of the energy and petroleum industry, cover the latest innovations, applications and unlock Africa’s upstream potential.
Leading professionals and industry leaders will share their views on upstream investment, unconventional energy resources and talent development.
Discussion topics will include:
- How to adapt for an ever-changing market
- How our future leaders can prepare and develop the industry for global challenges
- Human capacity and talent development
- Integration of renewables
- Government perspectives and more.
This one-day event will comprise of keynote presentations, panel discussions and break-out sessions, and will bring together key industry professionals with the goal of shaping the future of oil and gas in Ghana and surrounding Africa regions.
Proceedings will not be published; therefore, formal papers and handouts are not expected from speakers.
Work in progress, new ideas, and interesting projects are sought.
Professionally-prepared visual aids are not required; handwritten view graphs are entirely acceptable.
Note-taking by participants is encouraged.
This workshop aims to push the development and awareness for all future leaders in the industry and we strongly encourage Young Professionals to attend. This workshop is also relevant for all established professionals who want to raise their awareness of imminent changes in the industry as well as active students who want to know more about what industry they will be becoming a part of.
The Steering Committee encourages attendance from those who can contribute to the workshop most effectively. A mix of attendees in terms of geographic origin, companies, and disciplines will be encouraged.
In keeping with workshop objectives and the SPE mission, commercialism in posters or presentations will not be permitted. Company logos must be limited to the title slide and used only to indicate the affiliation of the presenter and others involved in the work.
All attendees will receive an attendance certificate attesting to their participation at the Workshop. This certificate will be provided in exchange for a completed Workshop Attendee Survey Form.
