The need for optimisation during well intervention becomes more and more prominent in a period of significant budget constraints. Downhole tools can play a vital role in providing enhanced efficiency associated with intervention activities and have demonstrated consistent improvement during the years in terms of multi-functional capabilities, extended operating envelopes, and ease of use. The current portfolio of tools now available from vendors allows a broader scope of intervention work and, ultimately, more efficient access to hydrocarbon reserves.

The aim of this session is to provide the audience with an overview of the latest technology developments that either extend the intervention envelope or provide significant commercial benefits for service companies and operators. The session will include a reference to case histories with demonstrated field implementation and quantifiable results.

Session Details:

  • Andrew French, WWT - Development of Slim Hydraulic Tractor Grippers for various Extended Reach Well Completion Types and Sizes
  • Fraser Macdonald, EVCAM - From Qualitative to Quantitative - How Visual Data Analytics has Transformed Downhole Video Diagnostic Services
  • Artem Shvedikov, Altus Intervention - Intricate Subsurface Safety Valve Lockout Executed by Innovative Electric Line Dual Stroker Operation, Securing Well Access and Restoring Production
  • Timofey Yakovlev, Welltec -  Robotic intervention solutions, conveyed on Eline as a way to increase operational efficiency
