How do you safely perform 40,000+ feet coiled tubing intervention within complex simultaneous operations involving highly concentrated well pads and topside production facilities? A common misconception is that wells in the Middle East are simple, as are the interventions performed on these wells. As we know, this could not be further from the truth. Across the Middle East and North Africa region, some of the world’s most challenging wells are being drilled, that bring with them extreme environments, operational hurdles, and logistical nightmares. The operators in this region continue to push the envelope of what can be done with current intervention techniques, and look towards novel solutions to tackle the problems that arise. In this session, we will learn first-hand from regional operators about the current well intervention challenges they face, with the aim of having success stories to report next year.
