As part of the 2010 International Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition in China (IOGCEC), an Education Week is held for the benefit of the students from the SPE Student Chapters across the Asia Pacific region and selected Student Chapters in the Middle East region, U.K and U.S.A.
The purpose of Education Week is to give students a clear insight into the petroleum industry, to provide opportunities for students to work together on a joint project, and discuss key issues, and to share the best practices of student chapters’ activities. At the same time, these students will be interacting with a number of major industry employers who are constantly looking to recruit the best talent from institutions across the region.
It is anticipated that 100 selected Student Chapters leaders and best students will participate in the Education Week.
Education Week Preliminary Programme
Sunday, 6 June
Registration and Hotel Check-In, Welcome Icebreaker Reception/Dinner.
Monday, 7 June
Presentations by Industry Executives and Young Professionals, a Session with the Education Week Sponsors, and Group Project assignments begin.
Tuesday, 8 June
Attend the Opening Ceremony/Keynote Session, Executive Plenary Session, Conference Technical Sessions and Exhibition, and Group Project assignments continue.
Wednesday, 9 June
Field trips to research centers, attend the Technical Sessions and the Exhibition, and Group Project assignments continue.
Thursday, 10 June
Presentation and Judging of the Group Projects, and Presentation of the Prizes.
