PLENARY I: INNOVATION IN MATURE FIELDS: EOR NEW TECHNOLOGIES

Moderators: Pedro Grijalba, Petrobras, Victor Huerta, Repsol

Panelists: Jeff Spath, Schlumberger; Solange Guedes, Petrobras; Roberto Muñoz, Halliburton; Hector Manosalva, Ecopetrol; David Lysne, Weatherford; German Laria, Repsol YPF

We have discovered and developed most of the easy oil in the world. Mature or brown fields account for a significant portion of the world’s oil and gas production—particularly in the Americas. The Latin America and Caribbean region has great opportunity as many of its oil and gas reservoirs have a recovery factor below the 35% global average.

This plenary session offers presentations and discussion of the current and emerging technologies for mature fields, including EOR technologies and mechanisms to improve the recovery factor.
