Student Chapter Meeting

18 April 2012 | 0900–1700 | CENTRO BANAMEX

Under the theme “Exploring New Connections,” this meeting will join youth leaders to promote the exchange of ideas and encourage integration among SPE student chapters. It is held in conjunction with LACPEC in order to encourage participation from all Latin American and Caribbean countries.

The first two meetings held were successful in creating strong regional integration between students. This year’s meeting will  continue to help increase the technical, professional, and personal development of future industry leaders. It will include an ice-breaking activity, presentations from SPE and young professional leaders, group activities, and a cocktail reception.

The principal objetives are:

  • Increase the innovations of the student chapter’s base on the experiences of others.
  • Generate regional ties between the student chapters.
  • Show the students the reality of  working in the petroleum industry, avoiding myths and confirming truths.
  • Motivate the “continuity” of the student chapters
  • Create and improve the ties between the students from different nationalities increasing personal and professional relationships.
  • Train the future leaders in the industry with a regional visión, working in their social, communication and leadership skills.

It will include an ice-breaking activity, presentations from SPE and young professional leaders, group activities and a cocktail reception.
