Conference Chairman’s Letter

Dear Colleagues,

Greetings to all members of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and to all potential speakers, delegates and participants.

It is our pleasure to invite you to SPE Project and Facilities Conference, 13–16 February 2011, in Doha, Qatar, that will take place in conjunction with METS 2011; the first Middle East Turbomachinery Symposium.

The Programme Committee encourages you to share your technical innovations and professional insights in a prime event that is centered on the needs and interests of the Middle East.

The SPE Project and Facilities Conference focuses on promoting the transfer of technology related to projects and facilities, from smart design to effective implementation, which is of paramount importance to the region and the world to maximise the discovery and recovery of oil and gas.

We, therefore encourage you to submit paper proposals online at www.spe.org/middleeast/, which in our view is most important way of participation as you can help in highlighting best practices and innovations in facilities and projects. The technical categories and sub-categories, format and guidelines for preparing the paper proposal is also detailed at the same link. The deadline for submission is 14 September 2010.

At the conference, presentations relating to the world’s best practices will provide you access to the most experienced practitioners. This is a unique opportunity for you to showcase your innovation and highlight your involvement to all those who are looking for relevant and helpful information and also to pursue networking opportunities with colleagues from other companies, at the Middle East’s premiere technical conference.
