History

Mumbai (formerly known as Bombay) is the commercial and entertainment centre of India and is the country’s largest city with a population of approximately 14 million people. The city is located on the west coast of India alongside the Arabian Sea. With an appealing coastline, many of Mumbai's top resorts and tourist attractions lie around its main beaches, where evening funfairs provide a great atmosphere. People of various backgrounds inhabit the city, and due to this diversification the customs, languages and even the food is of infinite variety. Mumbai is served by the Sahara International Airport which is located 30kms north of the city centre.
