Letter from the Chairperson

On behalf of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and the 2012 Scale Conference Organising Committee, I am delighted to welcome all delegates to the 11th SPE International Conference and Exhibition on Oilfield Scale. This biannual conference is held in Aberdeen–appropriately nicknamed “The Oil Capital of Europe”. The theme for this year’s event will concentrate on “Innovative Scale Management”. Lectures will focus on various aspects of the industry including recent progress in meeting the challenges of solving oilfield scale control problems, as well as current trends in scale removal. It is intended that participants attending this year’s conference will gain a greater understanding and knowledge of up-and-coming chemicals and technologies.

The conference will facilitate opportunities for participants to meet and reacquaint with friends and business associates, including the Welcome Reception and Conference Dinner held at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.

Lastly, I would like to thank all the members of the Programme Committee for their words of encouragement and continued support.
