Visa Information
Visa Guidelines
Please determine whether you will require a visa to enter Canada and plan ahead. The following guidelines will assist you in obtaining a visa:
Official Invitation Letter
- Generate an official SPE electronic invitation letter to assist you in the visa process.
- This letter from SPE outlines the reason for your travel and is used as a supporting document in your visa application.
- To receive an invitation letter by mail or fax, you must first register for the conference (registration will be open in mid-June 2010).
Please note: It is the sole responsibility of the attendee to obtain the necessary paperwork for entry to Canada. This letter does not guarantee that you will be granted a visa, nor does it commit SPE to assist you in obtaining a visa. SPE will not pay any expenses incurred by you. We cannot send the letter to the embassy or consulate for you, nor can SPE contact the embassy or consulate on your behalf.
Applying for a Visa
All foreign nationals intending to visit Canada are required to declare and show proof of the reason for and length of their stay along with, in some cases, the availability of adequate financial means and accommodation. In some cases an entry visa is required, which can be requested at the Canadian diplomatic and consular representation in the country of residence.

Please note that the aforementioned information is a general guideline for travel to Canada. Because travel requirements may change, SPE recommends that attendees contact their local embassy to ensure they have proper documentation.
