Keynote Speaker: Shane Freeson, Husky Energy
Shane Freeson is the district manager of production at Husky Energy in the heavy-oil and gas business unit located in Lloydminster and is a member of the SPE Canada board of directors.
Freeson has spent the majority of his career in heavy oil working for three separate producers applying cold production, thermal, and EOR methods. He is best known for the conception and implementation of the continuous pump-to-surface artificial lift solution having 1000 installations worldwide.
He was awarded the 1993 Canadian Engineering Corporate Design, the 1993 SPE Midcontinent student paper, and received the 2005 Outstanding Service Award from the Petroleum Society of CIM, now merged with SPE. Freeson received his BSc in petroleum engineering from the University of Alberta.
