2008 SPE Shale Gas Production Conference

16-18 November 2008
Dallas Marriott Las Colinas
Irving, Texas, USA

This unique conference is focused on the geoscience and engineering aspects of gas shale production. Attendees will gain a depth and breadth of knowledge about technologies that are currently being deployed, as well as evolving technologies. The single-track, 2-day program will emphasize recent plays (e.g., the Barnett shale in Texas and the Woodford shale in Oklahoma), emerging plays (e.g., the Fayetteville shale in Arkansas and the Haynesville shale in Louisiana), and the shales of Appalachia.

The conference program will include invited SPE papers, interactive presentations, and collaborative discussions. Experts will discuss issues including

  • Geology/Geophysics
  • Petrophysics/Geochemistry
  • Simulation/Modeling
  • Microseismic
  • Reservoir Engineering
  • Environmental/Economics
  • Well Construction
  • Well Stimulation

Based on SPE’s popular series of regional and advanced technology workshops, this conference provides the added dimension of technical exhibits. Vendors who have expertise and equipment related to all aspects of shale gas assessment, development, production, and operations will be located just outside the conference hall.
