Young Professionals Workshop

Sunday, 10 November • 1300–1700 • Meeting Room M1

Delivering Our Energy Future: Challenges & Opportunities

As many young professionals are being placed with a higher level of responsibility in the industry, a greater emphasis is being put on young employees to step into challenging technical and managerial roles. Equally important, young professionals have the responsibility to be proactively involved with the leadership development process and to be creative and innovative in order to meet the challenges. To help address these issues, the Young Professionals Workshop is designed for graduates and young professionals in the oil and gas industry under the age of 35 years or with less than 10 years industry experience in any technical discipline. Industry executives, young professionals, and university students will have the opportunity to engage in discussions about the future directions for young professionals in the oil and gas industry.

The speakers will include:

  • Jeff Spath, 2014 SPE President; Vice President Industry Affairs, Schlumberger
  • Ray Johnson, General Manager, Exploration & Production, Armour Energy
  • Tom Blasingame, Texas A&M University
  • Bob Pearson, Technical Director, Tactical Gas Services
  • Michael Scott, Reservoir Engineer, Senex Energy
