This year, the Western Regional Meeting will maintain its traditional base of thermal and nonthermal regional operations but will be expanded to include a strong focus on smart fields and artificial intelligence. We see the benefits of integrating these high-end technologies with dense well operations existing in our Western Region. Given the increased interest in tight shale operations, sessions on shale and diatomite development will be included. Juxtaposing California’s history of developing tight diatomites alongside of developing tight shales will create mutual learnings between the two high interest topics.
Conference sessions will be formulated based upon the papers and abstracts accepted by the technical program committee.
We hope these exciting topics and technologies will spur you to participate with passion by writing your best abstract and then technical paper.
Paper Proposal Deadline: 26 September 2011.
Sincerely,
The 2012 Western Regional Meeting Chairpersons
