Colin David, SPE, joined Aker Solutions as global account executive located in London, where he lives and has served two terms as SPE Section Chair. He began his career with Sperry-Sun Drilling Services, and upon its acquisition by Dresser in 1994 was appointed integrated services commercial manager for Dresser Drilling and Production Services. Following a mid-career MBA, David joined Weatherford, where he held a number of international operational and business development positions. He earned a BSc in geology from the University of London and an MBA in general management from the University of Edinburgh.

David Reid, SPE, National Oilwell Varco (NOV) senior vice president of global accounts and chief sales officer, was elected drilling & well services officer of the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC). He joined Varco International 20 years ago, beginning in the service end of the business. Reid has lived in Scotland, California, and Houston while working worldwide in a number of roles covering business development, product development, ­leadership, and management. He has made key contributions to the development of today’s top drives, pipe-handling, iron roughnecks, blowout preventers, integrated drilling systems, and automation. He serves on the NOV and ­Schlumberger IntelliServ Joint Venture board, and also serves as the chairman of the IADC advanced rig technology committee and is a founding member of the SPE Drilling Systems Automation Technical Section. Reid graduated from Northum-
bria University.

Ray N. Walker Jr., SPE, was promoted to senior vice president and chief operating officer at Range Resources. He will oversee all Range’s operations and will ­continue to lead Range’s environmental, safety, regulatory, and best practices programs. Walker is a registered petroleum engineer with more than 30 years’ oil and gas operations and management experience. Beginning as a roughneck in 1975, he then worked for more than 12 years at Halliburton in ­various technical and management roles. He subsequently served 9 years with Union Pacific Resources. He earned a BS degree with honors from Texas A&M University in agricultural engineering.
