Eve S. Sprunt, SPE, has been selected as the 2013 recipient of the Society of Women Engineers’ (SWE) top individual award. She received the SWE Achievement Award for her “game-changing contributions to the petroleum industry, to the science and practice of geoscience and petroleum engineering, and to the advancement of women engineers.” Sprunt works as a consultant in the oil and gas industry. She was the 2006 president of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and has served on its Board of Directors and as a Distinguished Lecturer. She holds 23 patents, and has authored 28 technical articles, edited two books, and written more than 120 editorials for petroleum industry publications. Sprunt earned BS and MS degrees in Earth and planetary sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a PhD in geophysics from Stanford University.
